Prayers for the Sixth Sunday After Pentecost
Almighty God, your son Jesus Christ has promised that you will hear us when we ask in faith: receive the prayers we offer.
Faithful God, you invite us to come to you and we will find rest for our souls but all too often we are tempted to stray, give us the resolution to hear and absorb so that we may truly find that promised rest.
Lord, in your mercy Hear our prayer
God of Reconciliation, whose sovereign rule brings justice and peace, look with compassion on this troubled world especially the countries and regions where there is war and conflict. Inspire the leaders, mediators and negotiators to seek lasting peace.
Lord in your mercy Hear our prayer
God of the natural world, give guidance and strength to those who rescue and retrieve, inspiration and skill to those who treat the damaged bodies and comfort to those who grieve their lost loved ones in the devastated earthquake zone in Venezuela.
Lord in your mercy Hear our prayer
We pray for Christians in all parts of the world particularly for the work of the Anglican Consultative Council that has been meeting this week in Belfast. In our diocesan cycle of prayer, we pray for the people of the Anglican Church of South America; the Diocese of Bathurst; the parish of Pittsworth; those who teach and learn at St Francis College especially the current formation students and for the school family at the Coomera Anglican College.
Lord in your mercy Hear our prayer
Caring God we pray for the clergy of this parish, for the Reverend Deb and assisting priests. We pray for our lay ministers and all those who have specific roles in nurturing growth in this place; we pray for ourselves and each other, our families our neighbours and our friends and for those with whom we live and work.
Lord in your mercy Hear our prayer.
God of Compassion you gave us an example of healing, compassion and care; assist us to extend the reach of your love to all who are affected by sickness, suffering and pain and those who care for them. Through us make your presence real to all who are in need and for those who feel particularly vulnerable. Especially we pray for those who have asked for our prayers we now name……
Lord in your mercy Hear our prayer.
Eternal God, we remember those who have died in the Faith especially those whose lives have touched our own.
