Second Harvest Bookshop is open almost every Saturday and Tuesday throughout 2025.
Closed Holy Week: April 15 & 19 and Tuesday, August 12). Last shop day in 2025 is Saturday, December 13.
Come, browse and buy from our extensive range of pre-loved books which include – fiction, non-fiction and children’s books – as well as fine collectible books!

King’s Birthday
Jams, marmalades, chutneys and pickles will also be on sale on these days.
Nearer the time, other attractions will be added such as cakes, craft, sausage sizzle. Watch for announcements in Friday Community News, Facebook and on the electronic signboard on Moggill Road.
Also on the plant sale days (other than the Monster Book Sale) there will be a one-off special offer in the bookshop. This will be announced on the electronic signboard and in Friday Community News.
The BIG attraction of the year is the Monster Book Sale (Monday May 6 to Saturday May 10) when ALL the thousands upon thousands of books in storage are unpacked and displayed on tables in the Church – far, far more stock than is in the shop! The children’s books will be displayed in a special area, as will the Fine Books. Do mark this in your diaries now!
Volunteers are always needed in the shop – do think about joining the team : no heavy lifting and we always stop for morning tea!
