ABOUT US
Christianity is a way of life that strives to emulate the radical love of Jesus through deep connection with God, each other, and creation.
In particular we aim to express this through the Five Marks of Anglican Mission:
Express the love of God, characterised by humility, justice and compassion.
Build welcoming, inclusive and nurturing communities of faith
Standing in solidarity with those in need
Challenge violence, injustice and oppression, and work for peace and reconciliation
Protect, care for and renew life of the earth
Our Faith
Our rector, Rev’d Deborah Bird, was commissioned November 16, 2024, having previously served in the parishes of Buderim, Toowoomba and Maleny.
Deb is passionate about inclusive church and encourages an engaged faith that connects with both everyday life and difficult seasons.
Previously a musician and teacher, she brings her love of the arts and astronomy to her preaching and enjoys creating spaces where faith is grown through curiosity and compassion.
You can follow her on Facebook or Instagram, or drop in and say hello!
Deb is usually in the office on Tuesday and Wednesday mornings, and you can always arrange to meet for a cup of tea or coffee at other times. Her days of rest are Friday and Saturday.
Deb is supported by a wonderful team of clergy — The Reverends Jonathan Kemp, Jane Mitchell, Graham Dorman, Jane Markotsis, George Markotsis, Sandra Kjellgren, and The Reverend Canon Richard Tutin — together with an energetic group of lay leaders and volunteers who share in the life and mission of the parish.
Our office administrator, Rillis Killmartin, is the first point of contact for most enquiries and can be found in the office Tuesday to Friday, 8am to 1pm.
