In her discussion Deb will explore space exploration and the work of Carl Sagan in particular.

Carl Sagan (1934–1996) was an American astrophysicist, planetary scientist, and bestselling author who brought cosmic wonder to millions through his books and the landmark series Cosmos: A Personal Voyage. He combined scientific rigour with a sense of poetic awe, famously describing Earth as a “pale blue dot” suspended in a sunbeam. A prophet of the atomic and space age, Sagan warned of technological arrogance, nuclear devastation, and ecological collapse. His legacy invites us to see ourselves not as separate from the cosmos but as star-born participants in its unfolding, called to wield knowledge with conscience and care for our fragile, shared home.
