Kate comes to the role of General Secretary with a PhD in religious communication (Lancaster University, UK), a Masters in Christian Studies (Regent College, Canada), and a deep interest in helping to build receptive ecumenism across Queensland’s faith communities through knowledge-sharing, relationship-building, and collaboration on matters of shared concern.
Her professional background includes supporting migrant and refugee communities as a Community Consultant with the Australian Department of Immigration and Multicultural Affairs, strengthening Christian higher education as Registrar with Alliance University College-Nazarene University College (Calgary, Canada), and inspiring students and pursuing research addressing social justice as an award winning educator and researcher at both The University of British Columbia (Canada) and The University of Queensland.
Born in country NSW and previously having lived in rural Canada, Kate is committed to helping QCT serve churches throughout Queensland and strengthening our relationships with regional and remote faith communities.
