Prayers for the Fourth Sunday After Pentecost
Let us pray to the God who knows us by name and watches over every sparrow.
Loving God,
we pray for your Church throughout the world. Strengthen all who follow Christ in places of hardship, uncertainty, or opposition. Give courage to those who proclaim the good news, and compassion to all who serve in your name.
Lord, in your mercy: Hear our prayer.
God of justice and peace, we pray for the nations of the world. We remember places torn apart by war, violence, division, and fear – we pray for the fragile steps toward peace being made in the Middle east. Guide the leaders of nations in the ways of wisdom and humility. Help us to seek peace, defend the vulnerable, and work for the flourishing of all people.
Lord, in your mercy: Hear our prayer.
God of all creation, you care for every sparrow and delight in all that you have made. We pray for the earth, our common home: for forests and rivers, oceans and wildlife; for farmers and gardeners; and for all who work to protect and restore creation. Teach us to be faithful stewards of your gifts on this beautiful site and across our region.

God of community, we pray for our local neighbourhoods and for this parish. Bless our families, schools, workplaces, and community groups. Strengthen bonds of friendship and understanding. Help us to be people who welcome others, share kindness generously, and reflect the love of Christ in everyday life.

God of comfort and healing, we pray for those who are anxious, lonely, grieving, or unwell. We remember before you those known personally to us and those whose needs are known only to you. May all who are burdened hear again Christ's words: "Do not be afraid."

God of hope, we remember those who have died in the faith of Christ and thank you that nothing in life or death can separate us from your love. Comfort those who mourn and strengthen us with the hope of resurrection.
