Prayers for the Third Sunday after Pentecost
Almighty God, Gracious God, we pray for the Church of the Province of South East Asia, ministry with the Torres Strait Island people of Australia, the Parish of Manly, Epic Employment Service Incorporated, St Margaret’s Anglican Girls School. In our parish we pray for Parish Priest, our assisting clergy and all who contribute to our shared mission.
Lord, in your Mercy: Hear our Prayer
Everlasting God, at times your son offers us hard choices; to choose sometimes between the closest ties of earth and loyalty to him. Free us from making decisions that are for our comfort or for the approval of others. We pray for Christians and people of all faiths who face persecution for the sake of their tradition. Strengthen, comfort and encourage all those who suffer harassment, violence, imprisonment and even death for being followers of the way.
Lord, in your Mercy: Hear our Prayer
Creator God, we live in a world becoming more secular and less religious every day. Help us to love faithfully inside and outside our church communities, to see the Christ in every face, to not walk past the opportunity to love and serve those in need. Give us, through the power of your Holy Spirit opportunities to extend our fellowship toward them, that they may see and know your love and care.
Lord, in your Mercy: Hear our Prayer
Gracious God, we thank you for our community, our families and friends. We pray for our children and young people. Be with those who are sitting exams at school, college or university. Help us, through our lives and witness to create a society where all feel valued.
Lord, in your Mercy: Hear our Prayer
Gracious God, we pray for the sick and the suffering. For those undergoing treatments and surgery, for those convalescing and those who are recovered, that through our intercessions they may all experience a full recovery. As we also pray for those who will not recover, we remember the words of Jesus that "Those who find their life will lose it, and those who lose their life for my sake will find it."
Lord, in your Mercy: Hear our Prayer
Merciful God, through the death of your son you have freed us from the grip of the tomb. We remember those who have departed this life and ask you, through your loving kindness, to uphold and sustain those bereaved by their passing.
Lord, in your Mercy: Hear our Prayer
