Demystifying Deliverance Ministry

A Community Conversation and Q+A with Rev’d Claye Middleton.

Deliverance ministry in the Anglican tradition is often misunderstood, yet it is a deeply pastoral and profoundly grounded ministry. It is complex work, requiring discernment, humility, and prayerful wisdom.

At its heart, deliverance is not dramatic spectacle but the gentle, steady work of Christ bringing freedom and healing. It is rewarding because it often touches the deepest layers of a person’s pain — the places where wounds, fear, and spiritual burdens have taken root.

Ultimately, deliverance ministry is about restoring the wholeness of a person’s spiritual life, helping them encounter God’s peace, truth, and liberating love.
